About the event
Dear Hylas owners, Hylas Yacht Club members* and Hylas friends:
We are very excited to announce our plans for a rendezvous this year and hope you will be able to join us.
These events have been hugely popular over the years and are a great opportunity to reconnect with old friends and sailing buddies as well as meet some new and prospective owners.
We will be loosely coordinating an itinerary you are welcome to join in whole or in part. The focus of this event is on friendship and community. There will be fun and games with superb prizes, a charitable component**, Hylas swag for all yachts attending and expert guest sailors that will join the rally to Dutch harbor.
There will be cause for celebration and a warm reception for all sailors, even those that have yet to make the leap into "Hylife". We are looking forward to seeing you, please let us know if you are able to join us. We have reservations for ten boats but will make room for more if we get enough notice.
Outline Itinerary
Friday September 21. Bristol, Rhode Island
5:00pm Herreshoff Museum. Opening reception (Refreshments and light hors d'oeuvres)
5:15pm Introductions & thanks. Companionway prizes and nautical challenges
6:00pm Open mike - Share a Hylas sailing adventure story
6:45pm Saturday rally details. Expert guest yacht assignments, goody bags and dinner/drinks ideas in town
Saturday 22. Dutch Harbor, Rhode Island
10:00am Rally to Dutch Harbor starts
Underway Lunch on board while sailing
3:00pm Raft up (Plenty of fenders!)
4:00pm New England Clam Chowdah and Lobster Rolls will be served from the Hylas M44 motor yacht
Rally prizes and Best Boat awards.
17:00 Pre-Sundowner "Pain Killers" followed by raft breakup (Sunset at 6:40pm)
*All Hylas owners are invited to sign up here for complementary membership of this burgeoning community Hylas Yacht Club. We'll be handing out membership burgees for those that haven't received one yet at the rendezvous and the Newport and Annapolis boat shows.
**We will raising money for Save The Bay. Participants in the Dutch Harbor Rally are encouraged to donate $40 per yacht and Queen Long will match the $40 donation.
